The practical objectives of internal cooling water treatment are:

• Maintain all exchanger surfaces and other surfaces of the water phases in a structurally sound and clean condition, adequately protected against operational and productive problems associated with deposition, corrosion, scale, microbial growth and contamination.

• Promote conditions in the water phase that allow efficient heat exchange.

• Provide technical and other support services to add value to cooling operations and production processes.

• Create awareness of program goals and their importance, and establish client confidence in program operational strategies through training, mutual cooperation, communication, and management review

• Allow the application to be feasible and controllable with a minimum of labor and money

• Be profitable considering the total capital of the water system and operating costs
